The Switzerland/France/South Africa band Ingoma Busuka is back on tour in Europe in Arpil 2025 with a top-class line-up. After the release of their first album "Isambulo" (Downbeat review), concerts in Switzerland and South Africa, they are coming back to Switzerland with Zulu singer Paras Dlamini and a brand new album. Paras Dlamini's debut album entitled "INGOMA BUSUKU" was recorded with the band in Cape Town, South Africa, within three days.
South African jazz is a groovy exploration of different linguistic cadences. In this case, Dlamini expresses himself in his native Zulu, but his stylistic nuances reveal his multi-layered inspirations - local, continental and international. Ingoma Busuku" is an Isi-Zulu axiom that simply means "song of the night" and at the same time a poetic expression that simply addresses secret and sacred mantras, prayers, love ballads and affirmations as well as the self, the supreme being and the ancestors.
The album was produced by Nduduzo Makhathini, an artist, composer and arranger for Blue Note Records. This is a spiritual album that encourages you to dance, meditate and reflect on your own journey and the intricacies of life.
